How does GeraRide compare to Careem?

Careem (acquired by Uber in 2020) operates primarily in the Middle East, North Africa, and Pakistan — covering cities in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, and others. GeraRide focuses on sub-Saharan Africa and the Caucasus. Geographic overlap is minimal. Careem is the right choice in MENA markets; GeraRide is the right choice in West/East Africa and the Caucasus.

Does Careem operate in Africa?

Careem has some presence in North African markets (Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia). Sub-Saharan Africa is not a primary Careem market. For Nigerian, Kenyan, Ghanaian, or Ugandan riders, GeraRide provides better local coverage and driver availability than Careem, which is not meaningfully present in those markets.

Is Careem a superapp?
