GeraRide in India 2026 — A Fair-Deal Ride-Hail for Drivers and Riders
Published 21 April 2026 · 8 min read · en-IN
GeraRide is a ride-hail network built for Indian cities where Ola and Uber take 25–30% of every fare. Our commission is capped at 12%, drivers keep more, riders pay less, and the app supports cars, auto-rickshaws, and bike taxis wherever local regulation permits.
GeraRide and the Indian regulatory picture
Ride-hail aggregators in India are governed by the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act 2019, the Motor Vehicles Aggregators Guidelines 2020 issued by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, and state-level aggregator policies (Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Telangana, Kerala, and others each have their own). TRAI does not directly regulate the app but does govern the SMS and call infrastructure that underpins ride communication. MeitY's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 governs rider and driver data.
GeraRide vehicle categories
- Auto-rickshaw (tuk-tuk) — the default for sub-5-km hops
- Mini and sedan cars — daily commute and airport
- SUV — group and premium
- Bike taxi — where Karnataka, Telangana, or Delhi permit
- Rental — 4/8/12-hour packages for errands and business
- Outstation — one-way and round trip
- Corporate subscription — monthly billing via GeraCash

How GeraRide compares to Indian alternatives
- Ola — largest, commission 25–30%, frequent driver protests
- Uber India — global parent, similar commission, premium car bias
- Rapido — bike taxi leader, strong in Bengaluru and Hyderabad
- BluSmart — all-electric, limited to Delhi NCR, Bengaluru
- Namma Yatri — driver-owned, Bengaluru auto-rickshaw

GeraRide is rolling out in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad in phase one, with Jaipur, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Kochi, and Indore in phase two. Airport pickup is supported at BLR, DEL, BOM, MAA, HYD, CCU, and AMD.
Hindi and regional-language availability
हिन्दी में अनुवाद — Hindi is the default ride-app language alongside English; Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, and Bengali are already live for driver onboarding and rider communication.
